The PC picked up a simple virus - it affected the login/activation script. It could have been fixed (I saw the solution online, but it involved messing about with registry files, so I was a bit reluctant) but the helper said that my PC needed a fresh install as it was so “heavily infected”. It took him 2 hours to get to this point and so we agreed that he could come back. He came back two days later, (having not been available the next day.) After wiping the hard drive - and trying to install the new OS, there was a error message saying the disk was locked. Again, I have now looked on line and there is a simple solution to this. However, the ITSquad member told us that he couldn’t’ fix anything and that we needed a new hard drive. Having lost faith completely in his ability to do anything constructive, we agreed that he could leave. From a simple virus clean up, I have now been left with a completely functionless computer. No operating system and the whole thing is not working. When he arrived, the PC was running perfectly well in safe mode with no problems, so I am understandably somewhat sceptical about my “broken” hard drive. To be honest, I certainly would not recommend this helper at all. And just to be clear, my husband was at no point, rude.

Jock has sorted out our laptop which was almost unusable. He completely rebuilt it and increased the laptop's memory for us, resulting in very fast performance. He was very patient, answering all my questions. My only wish is that I had found PC HomeHelp earlier and saved myself all those lost, frustrating hours trying to fix it myself!

Mr Waseer resolved our monitor problem by fixing the motherboard. He then offered to also sort out other longstanding problems. this involved uninstalling our windows XP professional and re-installing the home version + Office and changing our anti-virus provider. He then offered to fix our laptop which was malfunctioning. He was here for many hours and we had to pay for various installations, but it was money well spent as he has resolved problems that have been misdiagnosed or just missed by other professionals, and has been costing us dearly over the past 18 months. Both compouters are working better perfectly now.

Alexei was great. Dear PC Home Help First of all, my apologies for the delay in submitting this Review - there were family commitments. My Squad Member was Sean Murray, who visited my home on 9th August, 2007. Sean's best quality was that he was extremely patient, obviously loved computers and delighted in solving IT problems. I did ask Sean quite a lot of questions while he was working on my PC but he answered all of these with good humour and explained everything to me in a manner which was easy to understand - he also very kindly gave me a few tips for keeping on top of everyday problems with my PC. Alexei contacted me quickly and we agreed a visit for the next day (Saturday) which was an excellent result.Alexei doesn,t drive but was prepared to travel from Brighton to my house by train which cost him £5.80 out of his fee !! I met him at the station as it was easiest but he was prepared to walk or bus it. Paul hit the ground running and checked the connections to my XP and diagnosed the hardware for faults and found none. Possibly my problem was a lose wire. He then set up a secure wireless connection for me and took time and trouble to explain what he was doing and also gave me a lot of helpful advice. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Finding PC Home Help has given me immediate peace of mind! Len arrived 9 minutes early and was quick to confirm and diagnose the problem. I think he also diagnosed my abilities and was able to talk to me in a way I would understand with ease without getting bogged down in techno speak or feeling like a village idiot. He did a fresh reinstall of my XP as I had requested having agreed that it was the only solution and he took time to check my laptop while the XP reinstallation took place and answer 1001 questions and give me tips and advice that he thought I should be aware of (and was not until he told me them)He had previously contacted me on email so that I could email him my computer specs and he arrived with spare disks just in case they were needed. Len certainly does his homework of any individuals computer before he arrives at your door, and that saves him time and you money. Len worked quickly, methodically and very efficiently and took extra time in setting up my wireless connection, ensuring that it was working well. He could not secure the wireless no more than I could previously, but he got me back on line and he spent extra time still trying to secure my wireless when I would have thrown the wireless out the window. He charged me £5 less than he should have done, having quoted me £30 for the 3 hours and as he was here 15 minutes over that time (because of the wireless) I paid him the full £35 and that was more than good value for money. I consider the repair to be completed. Len has a very nice manner,is extremely polite, conscientious, caring and considerate and also compassionate with a nice sense of humour as he sympathises with your problems and he certainly knows what he is doing. Nothing is too much trouble for this man and if my computer went wrong again he would be my first choice to return back here to sort out the problems. I can't rate him or his abilities highly enough - thank you Len Jones!

I am delighted that I found PC Home Help. Such a simple user friendly service! Although my non-booting computer suddenly decided to boot when I plugged it back in in preperation for Brian's arrival, he did a great job of going through what had caused the computer to struggle in the first place - and once it was all cleaned and tidied it was a completely different machine. Hi, There was no problem with sound before the engineer called, so i am not sure why he did anything with that? He did fix the corrupt screen display by removing the graphics card. I was faced with having to dis-assemble the computer (all that spaghetti) take it to a computer shop to be charged £15 for them to tell me what was wrong and how much it would cost to put it right. Gary, from pc HomeHelp telephoned, made an appointment, arrived and solved the problem. He didn’t take payment, instead will call back on Saturday to check everything is OK and I assume, collect £20. It’s a no brainer – no messing about with cables etc., no inconvenience, no waiting and then having to collect from the repairer and re connect everything. Peter was very friendly, helpful and diagnosed the problem very quickly. He also provided useful advice unrelated to original problem, e.g. showed me how to remove unwanted windows start-up items. He needed to order parts and agreed to return to fit at no extra charge! but in the end he provided enough advice over the phone for me to fix without second visit.

Peter was very punctual,and got into the problem straight away.He was gone within 45 minutes,and gave me some good advice on how to deal with any future virus problems,and how to improve the performance of my machine.I really can't praise him,or this service,any higher.I could not have done this myself,even with a premium helpline.And it would cost at least twice as much to take it to a PC shop.I absolutely recommend this service,and this IT member.10 out of 10 from me!

Arrived late but apologised due to traffic, initially fixed pc by putting new graphics card on and paid £50 for fixing pc and hardware, after he left pc crashed again almost immediately and same problems occurred. Called ITSquad member and said he would come back to take pc home with him the same day so he can investigate and would only charge for picking up and collecting pc, if any further hardware was needed would inform me. Said should be ready by next day, and would make pc is fully functional before returning to me. Called me the next day around midday, and said he has ran all tests, said the fan, and the coolant had to be replaced as they had burnt out, also he said old graphics card he tried again but it had burnt out too. Said he would charge me £50 for the whole job. Brought PC back within 1 hour of calling me. Stayed with me until i wascertain pc was back to normal, and he said that if there was any further problem with pc within 3 months, he would repair for free. He was very friendly, and work on time and finished the job in the agreed time. I was satisfied with the service and would be happy to use him again.

Then someone else turned up on the day and time I had originally proposed and did the job.
